10 Rooftop Bars in Brisbane

Rooftop bars are the perfect place to hang among the stars - literally. In previous posts, we’ve shared some of the world’s most inspiring rooftop restaurants and in this post, we move onto amazing rooftop bars, and this time in our very own home city - Brisbane, raising the bar scene to new heights.

Dandy’s Rooftop

Head to the top of the iconic Fox Hotel in South Brisbane and you’ll find yourself amidst a fun and playful space that is Dandy’s rooftop. This colourful, tennis-themed rooftop bar will make you feel like it is summertime all year round.

Where to go: 71-73 Melbourne St., South Brisbane

Eagle’s Nest

If it’s a beautiful view (especially during Sunset) that you’re looking for then Eagle’s Nest is the rooftop bar you need to go to. Open only to the general public as a rooftop bar on Sundays after 3p, (as it’s also part of The Point Hotel) you can finish the weekend off on a high. Offering live music, a range of cocktails, wine and beer accompanied by a tempting bar menu, you’re also treated to a great view of Brisbane City’s skyline and Story Bridge.

Where to go: 21 Lambert St., Kangaroo Point

Eleven

Take yourself Eleven floors above 757 Ann St. and you’ll find one of the most sophisticated and stylish rooftop bars in Brisbane - Eleven. With it’s ibiza-inspired vibe and relaxed venue not only offers sweeping views of Brisbane city including Fortitude Valley, the CBD, and Mt Coot-tha, it also serves European-style share plates, light breakfasts, coffee and cocktails in sleek and stylish surrounds.

Where to go: Level 11, 757 Ann St, Fortitude Valley

Elixir

Want to escape the city and the crowds that come with the many club-goers heading to the Valley? Visit Elixir, a subtropical oasis set high above Fortitude Valley’s entertainment scene. This intimate venue is perfect for a quiet drink or two to unwind and relax.

Where to go: 646 Ann St., Fortitude Valley

Limes

The Limes, Hotel is stirring up a lot of commotion and we’re not just talking drinks (although they too are top notch). Known for their great party vibe, encouraged by the fact that they have an open air rooftop cinema, live DJs on certain nights and two plunge pools/spas, Limes is one of the best rooftop bars not just in Brisbane but probably in Australia too.

Where to go: 142 Constance St., Fortitude Valley

Lennons

Above Queen St. Mall, you’ll find Lennon’s Pool Rooftop Bar and Pool. Part of the new Next Hotel, they’re probably the newest rooftop bar on this list, but they’ve already gotten a following of their own. Their cocktail menu is extensive, almost as long as the pool!

Where to go: Level 2, 72 Queen St., Brisbane CBD

Soleil

Even though it’s winter now, Soleil Rooftop Pool Bar is still one of the places to be. Soleil is French for ‘sun’; fitting as it Soleil is open all day and night (well til very late). You can celebrate summer all year round. The poolside venue has two separate bars, offering a variety of exotic cocktails and punches, with a fantastic view over South Bank.

Where to go: Corner of Grey and Glenelg St, South Bank.

Spicers Balfour

Looking for a more intimate rooftop bar? Spicers Balfour has a somewhat secret, hidden gem in the form of a rooftop bar. Exclusively to hotel or dining guests only, this rooftop bar boasts a beautiful view of the Story Bridge from its location in New Farm.

Where to go: 37 Balfour St, New Farm

Stock Exchange Rooftop

The Stock Exchange Building is an icon in Brisbane and having been around since 1863, we’re sure it’s been renovated a few times since, with its latest revamp in 2014. The inner-city venue  turned their once drab rooftop into a trend rooftop bar while still keeping its historic appeal. The large, square space is now filled with wooden tables, hanging plants and fairy lights, lending to its casual atmosphere perfect for after-work drinks.

Where to go: 131 Edward St., Brisbane City

Up on Constance

Sitting atop TYRP Fortitude Valley Hotel, UP on Constance is a rooftop that you must visit. Offering stunning city views, chilled music and an extensive range of drinks, the airy and open UP is truly a getaway from all the hustle and bustle on the streets below.
