4 standout Brisbane rooftop bars

As a city, Brisbane has some beautiful views - not just of the city itself, but of surrounding mountains and gorgeous sunsets. When in the CBD itself, there's no better way of experiencing these sights than by spending some time on a rooftop bar.

Given our recent post regarding the proposed extensive Queen's Wharf precinct redevelopment and the fact it will boast an absolutely massive Sky Deck for unparalleled views of the city's surrounds, we thought we'd take a look at some other high-set locales throughout the city. This, of course, coming in the form of the aforementioned rooftop bars.

Up on Constance

If you ever find yourself Fortitude Valley-bound, Up on Constance is certainly one of two particularly great rooftop bars worth checking out when in the night-life driven area. As the name suggests, it's on Constance Street - on the rooftop of the Tryp Hotel, to be exact. When on ground level, you'll find Chur Burger. So if you want to have something to eat first, head in there, and then make your way up the elevator afterwards. Suffice to say, there is plenty of fresh air and some nice views. The modern, comforting look is certainly welcome, too.

The Stock Exchange rooftop bar

The Stock Exchange's rooftop bar went through some notable revisions and changes and, as such, has become a location more befitting the corporate crowd. In terms of look and feel, it's comparable to a beer garden, which ensures it's an ideal place for having post-work drinks.

Elixir

As far as rooftop bars go, Elixir is more or less one of the originals in the city. Located in Fortitude Valley, it has a clean, almost Mediterranean-like design. The bar is full of craft beers, wines, and a range of speciality cocktails. Most important, while still having a cosy feel, the area is very open and allows for plenty of sunshine and natural flow-through.

Lennons Pool Bar

Located along Queen Street Mall, Lennons Restaurant and Bar also comes with a rooftop pool four levels above the abundance of foot traffic making its way up, down and across the mall floor. Whether you love food or drinks (see: mojitos), you can spend your time relaxing - be it during the day or at night. It also has a nice look when the sun sets. Oh, and of course, you can always go for a swim in the bar's lap pool.
