Envision your perfect home with COLORBOND

Deciding on how you want your home to look can sometimes be a daunting task.

Not only do you have to account for what colours you'd like, you also have to consider the materials and what would work best for your home and the surrounding climate. To help ease this process, COLORBOND has an official online colour visualiser that covers everything from contemporary homes to the fencing around your property.

For the time being, COLORBOND only offers a visualiser for residential homes. However, the amount of customisation it permits is substantial.

The Visualiser

The Visualiser is separated into six initial categories, four based on home type, and two on additional products that COLORBOND offer. These are: contemporary, country, traditional and cost homes; fencing; and gutters.

Once you click on a house of a similar style to yours, you'll first be prompted to identify whether or not your home is at least one kilometre away from marine influences. If you select 'No', you'll be asked to choose the nature of the marine influence - either surf (crashing ways and sea spray) or calm (e.g. bays, ports, harbours, etc.). You then choose how far from the influence you are, and COLORBOND will suggest which products you should consider using that are built to withstand these marine elements. If you choose to customise your home with these parameters, you may end up with less to work with - but they will be more indicative of what's right for your home.

Beyond this initial step, you can customise the colours of the core components of the house's exterior, including the roof, gutters, fascias, garage, feature point (e.g. feature wall, small garden area, etc.), garage wall, general exterior walls, sidings, and trims. For certain exteriors, such as the general walls, you can customise by colour or brick finishing. How many of these options are available depends on house-type and marine influences.

In terms of fencing and guttering, it's a similar system. Fencing does not require you to identify marine influences, but guttering still does. Most of the options in the guttering section are ones that are also covered when you choose the colouring options for an entire home - it's just COLORBOND know that not everyone is looking to change their entire home, but they may be looking to change their guttering.

Again, what options are available depend on the fence or gutter type you choose. Below are a couple of screenshots from the varying fencing options.
