New Year's and Brisbane's rooftop bars

2016 is almost here and many of us will be up and ringing in the New Year, whether it's at home, out in the city to see the fireworks or maybe even atop a rooftop bar. As we've noted in the past, Brisbane has some truly brilliant rooftop venues sprinkled through the city and Fortitude Valley, so it's no suprise all of these will be embracing the change of year to hold some memorable celebrations.

Eleven Rooftop Bar

The Eleven Rooftop Bar is one of the newer venues in Fortitude Valley, but it has certainly made a name for itself in the shorter time it's been around. So much so that its Ocean's Eleven, Vegas-style New Year's party is officially sold out. Of course, if you really want to go, you could jump on the Facebook Events page to see if anyone is selling their tickets. The party covers five hours of food and drinks while also providing a view of the fireworks display set to go off at midnight.

Up on Constance

Up on Constance is another fantastic rooftop venue, and just like Eleven its New Year's party has unfortunately completely sold out. Of course, the more popular the venue, the quicker the tickets will always sell out. Still, if you were lucky to secure some tickets, you can look forward to a white-themed Hamptons-style New Year's party that runs from 7pm until 2am, with the packaged food and drinks running from 7pm to midnight. Of course, if you are going, don't forget that the dress code does require you to dress in all white.

Elixir

Another great option is Elixir, which is yet another rooftop bar that resides in Fortitude Valley (perhaps there is a pattern emerging here). Their New Year's celebration includes four hours of food and drink covered between 8pm and 12am. Of course, you can go on beyond that, but just be ready to start paying for your drinks. At the time of writing this, it looks as though Elixir still has tickets left, so be sure to get in now if you want to spend New Year's above the city streets.

The Stock Exchange Hotel

Moving into the CBD, the Stock Exchange Hotel is having a big celebration taking place across two levels (including its rooftop section) with music by the Hanlon Brothers, DJ sets and (apparently) your very own private fireworks show. Given the recent upgrades the to rooftop section of the Stock Exchange, it could be an ideal venue. Though be warned, anyone can attend, so it may get quite packed.

Limes Hotel rooftop bar

Returning to the Valley, there is the Limes Hotel rooftop bar. While their New Year's event doesn't offer as many hours of drinking and eating (it's three hours between 7pm and 10pm), it is one of the cheaper options on the list. Plus, along with canapes you also get to enjoy the creations from Doughnut Time - not a bad deal. Plus, as long as you've got a bit more cash on you, you can easily keep enjoying more drinks until the clock strikes midnight. Given it's a Copacabana-themed party, there are also a couple of cocktails included gratis during the 3-hour package window.
